Art Amidst Design: Il Decor and From Russia With Art present works by Andrew Manaylo, Anatoly Dverin and August Mosca

To ring in spring, Il Décor enthusiastically welcomes the next exhibition in our Art Amidst Design series. From Russia With Art, a Cambridge-based gallery, will present paintings by various professional painters featuring Andrew Manaylo, Anatoly Dverin, and August Mosca.

Andrew Manaylo, a visiting artist based in Florida, is a classically trained descendant of a dynasty of successful Ukrainian artists. His paintings impeccably mesh the classical with the modern, with a defined characteristic of color being used as a power to evoke emotion.

Also on display is American Impressionist, Anatoly Dverin, an esteemed member of Oil Painters of America (OPA) as well as a Master of Pastel Society of America. After fleeing the USSR, he was able to secure a job as a greeting card illustrator, and within a few years followed his dream to open his own commercial art business. His impressive roster of customers includes Delta Airlines, National Geographic, Johnson & Johnson and Apple.

August Mosca (1909-2002) is an important Italian-American urban realist, who belonged to an elite circle of New York urban Modernists. His work, which focuses on high-voltage urban scenes and opulent landscapes, has been featured in exhibitions in world renowned museums like the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

Il Décor is excited to have these talented artists’ work adorn the walls of their Back Bay showroom and to inspire ideas of how art and home décor can transform a living space. Please join us for a reception on Thursday, May 18, for discussion, live music and light refreshments. They all represent great Schools of Fine Art, such as St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Art, Surikov and Stroganov Institutes of Fine Art in Moscow, Kiev Academy of Fine Art, Rhode Island School of Design and more. During annual pop-up exhibitions in different towns of Massachusetts and Maine Russian-Ukrainian cultural, educational and music programs being offered to Gallery supporters and visitors. Art and culture has no borders and helps mutual understanding between American and Russian people.
