Welcome to our 7th Annual, two month long Holiday exhibit which opens its doors at the very spacious and beautifully decorated with Russian, Ukrainian and American fine art, former Touch Art & Craft Gallery ( 281 Concord Avenue, Cambridge MA 02138, open Tue- Sun from 10 30 – 7 PM, 857 756 8185 Olesya and Jerry Koenig.)

Paintings, etchings, mixed media, sculptures, designs by Russian-American & Ukrainian artists such as S. Nikireyev, A.Vetrov, V.Vorobyov, I.Makoveeva, A.Dverin, V.Zebek, M.Bablyak, A.Voytsekhovsky, M.Lenn, G.Lapchinsky, R.Zaika, M.Volkova & American artists: W. Oberst & J. Kociuba are on display at our spacious gallery, about 15 min. walk from Harvard Sq. The collection of vintage Soviet propaganda posters is also on sale, to benefit a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization Russian- American Cultural Center.

      On October 26th from 5-8 PM. “Ukrainian Night” Grand Opening Artist Reception with Ukrainian- American Impressionist Anatoly Dverin, Signature Member of Oil Painters of America. The Director of Harvard Ukrainian Institute Prof. Serhii Plokhii will present his recently published book “The Gates of Europe: A History of Ukraine.” Live Russian & Ukrainian music will be performed by Olga Lisovskaya, soprano. Refreshments will be served.

Nov. 6th – Dec. 20th. Russian Lessons for Beginners will be taught by a young teacher from Moscow, Ksenia Smykovskaya. Please RSVP for 1 or up to 6 lessons on Tuesdays from 6 – 7PM and on Sundays from 2 – 3 PM (single lesson $27, set of 6 is $24 each) RSVP at 857 270 4502 please.

Nov. 16- 26 th: Meet St. Petersburg Artist Alexander “Petrovich” Voytsekhovsky and enjoy his cheerful and full of subtle humor works on paper. Artist receptions, talk and book presentations on Nov. 16th from 5 – 8 PM and on Nov. 26th from 3 – 6PM (picture displayed above.)

Nov. 15-Dec. 11th. “New Beginnings. The Contemporary Realism of William Oberst,” an awarded painter and fine art professor from North Adams, MA are on view. Artist reception on Nov. 20th from 3 – 6 PM. “Painter’s Vision”, also film & discussion with Artist on Dec. 3 from 4: 30 – 6 PM.( featured painting “Four Seated People”, oil on linen, 46″ x 42″ by the Artist is displayed above.)

Holiday Sale: gifts, prints, animal dry points by Irena Makoveeva, mixed media by Misha Lenn, Russian souvenirs, handmade accessories by designers Rimma Zaika and Inga Puzikov: December 1 – 24. New collection of clothing, jewelry and accessories for the contemporary woman by Bostonian fashion designer, Rimma Zaika. Arus Auctions House, MA presents their collection of sculptures & porcelain figurines of early to mid 20th Century.

Thurs, Dec. 1 from 3 – 4 PM: Children Meet the Artist: free drawing workshop performed by Cambridge artist Jim Kociuba (Rhode Island School of Design) & Olesya Koenig.

Sun. Dec. 4 Russian Matryoshka Club and Russian American Cultural Center of Boston invite you from 2 – 4PM to celebrate Holiday season with traditional Russian tea and homemade pryaniki, and a round table discussion hosted by Larisa Dyan and Peggy Coleman. Tickets $15.

Dec. 4 from 4 – 7 PM an Artist reception for Bostonian artist Maria Bablyak “Off the Easel”, exhibition of en plein air and abstract paintings, from Nov.29 – Dec.24th. Fashion show with designers Shaunt Sarian and Valentina.

Sat. Dec 10th from 11 – 2PM and 3 – 6PM participants can enjoy decorating & painting a 3 piece “Matryoshki” Workshop along with storytelling with Larissa Dyan. Jerry and Olesya Koenig are long time fine art collectors. In 2010, when Jerry retired from his job as General Director of Tenneco Automotive-Volga in Russia, they moved from Moscow, Russia to Cambridge, MA and co-founded From Russia With Art Gallery in Cambridge. The gallery features paintings, etchings, mixed media and sculptures of great quality and detail by Russian-American and Ukrainian artists, such as: Stanislav Nikireyev ( 1932-2007,) People's Artist of Russia; Anatoly Dverin ( b. 1935) Signature Member of OPA and Master of Pastel Society of the United States, Honored Artists of Russia: Alexander Vetrov, Irena Makoveeva and Vladimir Vorobyev, painters George Lapchinsky, Alexander Korman, Jim Kociuba, Maria Bablyak and Misha Lenn, sculptors Masha Volkova and Oleg Kedrya and more. They all represent great Schools of Fine Art, such as St. Petersburg Academy of Fine Art, Surikov and Stroganov Institutes of Fine Art in Moscow, Kiev Academy of Fine Art, Rhode Island School of Design and more. During annual pop-up exhibitions in different towns of Massachusetts and Maine Russian-Ukrainian cultural, educational and music programs being offered to Gallery supporters and visitors. Art and culture has no borders and helps mutual understanding between American and Russian people.
